Board and Train

Here at Shawn Reed Dog Training Company we primarily focus on board and train programs for dogs. Over the years we have done it all, from in home lessons, group classes, private on sight lessons, to board and trains. We have found that the biggest success rates have come from our board and train programs. Especially with dogs with behavioral problems like aggression, we have found taking the dog out of their element and putting them in a new one with training has accelerated the rehab process. Unlike many other companies, here at SRDTC we’re going to give you a flat weekly rate. While other companies want to charge per session for an allocated time daily, we find this not so realistic. Here’s why, dogs are not robots. They’re living creatures with emotions, varying levels of motivation and attention span. For example, some dogs it behooves them to have five 10 minute sessions a day or two twenty minute sessions. Every dog is different. You can only go as fast as the dog allows.

Weekly Rate

$500 per week

We offer a three week and beyond program. If your dog is just coming for obedience we can train your dog on leash in three weeks. If you want off leash obedience it will take around five weeks. If your dog has aggression issues, most likely your looking at the least four weeks.

Basic Obedience Commands

• Sit
• Down
• Stay
• Here
• Place (which means go to your bed and stay)
• heeling (walking next to you on your left side with loose leash)

Advanced Obedience

All of the commands in the Basic Obedience will be transitioned to off leash reliable.

Service Dog Program

Our service dog program is a custom tailored program to suit your needs. A suitable dog is required for this program. We can test your dog to see if he fits the requirements. If he doesn’t, we’ll be happy to help select one for you. We can train dogs to do various tasks. Below are some examples of how we can help.

• Diabetic Alert Dog
• Hearing Dog
• Dog to open/close doors, turn lights on/off
• retriever and carry things for owner

Those are just a few examples. We can train dogs to do some pretty amazing tasks for owners. Please call us for any other information and questions. We’d love to help you. Our weekly rate does not apply here. This is a long term relationship between us and owner, therefore a custom rate will be applied.
